Guest Speaker: Warren Rosenfeld, owner of Calbag Metals

The NIBA meeting held February 9th was hosted by Warren Rosenfeld at his Calbag Metals facility.  NIBA has decided to occasionally spotlight a local business within the Guilds Lake Industrial District.  Warren is the third generation in the family to lead the scrap metal recycling company co-founded by his great-grandfather in 1907.  The original company founded here in Portland was called Northwest Junk.
 
Warren has lived and worked in the GLISS for many decades and is a wealth of knowledge about all things Portland.  Warren shared with the group the history of Calbag Metals and updated us on its current operations and world-wide reach.  In addition to operating Calbag Metals, Warren is a stakeholder in the ESCO property.  We briefly discussed the MP2H streetcar issue and its potential impact on the GLISS.
